Emma Watson — Paris born, but mainly England raised, Emma Watson is most well-known by the character she played for nearly ten years as Hermione Granger in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter series. She and her fellow co-stars grew up in front of the entire world, taking the good and bad of the experience.
Emma Watson has moved on to smaller films since then, also attending college and living her life the way she wants. Unlike many other child stars, she has managed to grow gracefully into whom she is today and has some inspiring quotes for everyone out there.
“I don’t have perfect teeth, I’m not stick thin. I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn’t want to change anything.”
“The saddest thing for a girl to do is dumb herself down for a guy.”
“My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal, the more people can wonder.”
“I hope my head doesn’t get very big. I’m just going to keep my feet on the ground, stick to friends and family and try and lead a normal life.”
“I don’t want other people to decide who I am. I want to decide that for myself. I want to avoid becoming something too styled and too ‘done’ and too generic. You see people as they go through their career and they just become more and more like everyone else.”
“I have had no control over my life. I have lived in a complete bubble. They found me and picked me for the part, and now I’m desperately trying to find my way through it.”
“I like books that aren’t just lovely but that have memories in themselves. Just like playing a song, picking up a book again that has memories can take you back to another place or another time.”
“I don’t want the fear of failure to stop me from doing what I really care about.”
“I get sent Bibles. I have a collection of about 20 in my room. People think I need to be guided.”
“There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect – you lose the point. You want what you’re wearing to say something about you, about who you are.”
“I just loved performing. It just made me feel alive. It’s scary, but that’s part of it. I think it’s important to have that extra adrenaline. It gives you that extra zing.”
“I want to paint and I want to write and I want to act, and I just want … to do everything.”
“I remember the first time someone asked me, ‘What are you wearing?’ — speaking designer — and I thought, ‘What a strange question. Obviously, I’m wearing a dress.’”
